Shane Adams the CEO of Applied Technology will be our speaker

Shane Adams is a veteran IT cybersecurity executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience, Mr. Adams is responsible for engineering and integrating customized standards-based security solutions and programs for clients, particularly those representing the critical infrastructure, healthcare, legal, gaming and hospitality industries. He holds (ISC)2 CISSP and ISACA CISM security certifications. Mr. Adams holds the position of CEO with Applied Technology Group, LLC. The firm provides managed security program and security operations services to critical infrastructure organizations. Mr. Adams also serves as President of the InfraGard Mississippi Members Alliance and has been a member of the organization for 13 years.

AITP began as the National Machine Accountants Association back in the 1950s, and an active chapter was formed in Jackson at this time. With the advent of powerful, mainframe computers and the accompanying staffs, the name was soon changed to DPMA (Data Processing Management Association) to focus more on the processing of all types of data. However, with the proliferation of personal and mid-range computers, this name also became dated, and effective in 1997 the association members changed its name to AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals).
